Legislative Decree 29/2017 arises from the need to establish specific sanctions against failure to comply with the prerequisites set out in the regulations regarding materials and articles intended to come into contact with food. This results in economic sanctions ranging from €1,500 up to €80,000 for cases in which there is a risk to human health. Certain amounts refer to prior values already established under Presidential Decree 777/82, which remains in force in some cases, especially in the event of incompatibility with EU regulations. Following is an example of the penalties envisaged (with amounts expressed in €) in relation to the offences committed.
